Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac Available Today

Research in Motion is offering BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac as a free download starting today. The new desktop manager will allow MacBook users to backup and sync their Blackberry smartphones from the comfort of OS X.

BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac syncs data from iCal, Address Book, Microsoft Entourage and other productivity applications. The software also allows users to backup their smartphones, manage applications and install software updates.

One thing that’s sure to bring smiles to MacBook owners’ faces is that the software will sync music from iTunes so they can take playlists to go.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager software for Mac requires OS 10.5.5 and higher. It supports BlackBerry smartphones with OS 4.2 and higher.

Blackberry Desktop Software is available for download from BlackBerry.com/Mac starting at 1PM EST.
