Sony VAIO Notebooks Star in Terminator Salvation

Sony VAIO notebooks seem to be the weapon of choice for heroes these days. In Terminator Salvation, John Conner (Christian Bale) and members of the Resistance rely on VAIO notebooks to fight Skynet.

A Sony VAIO TZ ultraportable is used by the Resistance command staff and Conner uses a VAIO FW as his main notebook.
When he needs to be more mobile he carries a Sony VAIO UX. Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) also also carries a VAIO UX for part of the movie.

I know it’s just a movie, but the notebooks and their blazing Sony logos looked out of place in a world devastated by nuclear attacks.

The Sony VAIO UX also appeared in the Quantum of Solace.

Why would machines need graphical interfaces and laptops?

Machines don't "need" graphical interfaces, but the humans do... I got into this debate with my wife- who pointed out that Skynet was in the midst of building humanoid Terminators, who would naturally prefer to interface with computers the same way humans do.
