3G iPhone Coming in 2008

iPhone.jpgAT&T’s CEO Randall Stephenson said a 3G Version of the Apple iPhone will be available next year during a Chruchill Club dinner in Silicon Valley. He said Apple will “dictate what the price of the phone is.”

The current iPhone uses AT&T’s EDGE network, making browsing and streaming multimedia content extremely slow. The lack of 3G is the iPhone’s biggest weakness. A 3G iPhone will need to have a higher capacity battery and/or improved power management since operating on the faster network takes a lot more power.

The next iPhone will likely have at least a 16GB capacity.
