Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks (video)

VX Nano Mouse LogitechLogitech introduced the VX Nano, its latest cordless mouse for notebooks. The VX Nano sports the smallest USB receiver in the world and a hyper-fast scroll wheel. The USB receiver sits nearly flush with the notebook’s case, eliminating the need to plug and unplug it when moving from place to place.

We got a chance to play with the VX Nano at Logitech’s headquarters and shot the following video of the new mouse in action. Logitech’s Delphine Donne-Crock walked us through the VX Nano’s features. Two AAA batteries will keep the mouse powered for up to six months.

“More and more laptop users are abandoning the touch pad in favor of a cordless notebook mouse,” said Rory Dooley, Logitech senior vice president and general manager of the Control Devices business unit. “However, with most notebook mice, the size of the receiver forces people to plug and unplug the receiver each time they use the laptop. Because we were able to make the nano-receiver so small, it can remain plugged into the laptop at all times so on-the-go notebook users save valuable time and never have to worry about where the receiver is.”

The VX Nano mouse features the MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel, which Logitech introduced last fall. This makes it possible to scroll through up to 10,000 rows in an Excel spreadsheet in 10 seconds. There are also several shortcut buttons on the VX Nano to make it easier to quickly navigate web sites and even search the Internet.

A laser engine ensures smooth cursor control and precision tracking on virtually any surface, and Logitech’s 2.4 GHz digital cordless technology provides a robust wireless connection.

The Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe in late August for a suggested retail price of $69.99.

  • Looks Great, the best part about this is its sleek look, i am sure it'll be real fun to use it and I bet it will be real easy on the fists and fingers so the hand will last longer:)
  • The only problem I see with this wireless mouse is its BIG body. I mean come on, with Laptops becoming sleek and compact this fat mouse will only look too shabby and fat to carry.
