Motorola Droid 2 and Droid X Rumored Specs

Motorola Droid 2 pictures and video were posted by Droid Life yesterday. The new Moto Droid 2 has an improved keyboard and a few other updates that may give Motorola some of the hype that has been swirling around HTC’s recent Android smartphones, the Droid Incredible and the EVO 4G.

The Motorola Droid 2, pictured above, reportedly has a new raised keyboard, as well as a new version of Motoblur, Motorola’s social networking integration software, which should be less interfering.

Motorola Droid 2 Specs (Rumored):

  • 3.7-inch screen
  • Android 2.1 operating system (possibly 2.2 by launch)
  • 750 MHz OMAP processor
  • 8GB of Internal memory
  • 8GB SD (probably micro SD) card pre-installed
  • 5MP Camera
  • WiFi tethering
  • New keyboard design
  • New version of Motoblur

Also leaked was the Motorola Droid X, which is rumored to be even more powerful than its little brother, the Droid 2.

Motorola Droid X Specs (Rumored):

  • 4.3-inch screen
  • Android 2.2
  • 8MP Camera with dual-LED flash
  • 720P video recording
  • 9 separate home screens
  • Dedicated camera button
  • HDMI Out
  • No Motoblur
  • Even more of a metal look and feel than the original Droid and unreleased Droid 2

Though the Droid 2 may not steal the limelight from HTC’s new Android powered devices, the Droid X should give them a run for their money. With a camera that is comparable to the Incredible and features similar to the EVO 4G, the Droid X looks like a solid competitor. No word on price or availability at this time.
