Toshiba Portégé A605 Notebook Introduced
Toshiba’s introduced the Portégé A605 notebook, a lightweight consumer notebook that borrows some features from the Portege R500 , but isn’t quite as thin or light. The Portege A605 does have some sweet features, including an aluminum enclosure and 6.9 hours of battery life.
Acer Aspire One Available in U.S. (Pricing and Specs)

ThinkPad X200 Review

Lenovo officially introduced the ThinkPad X200 today, but was kind enough to send me an early review unit last week. The X200 is Lenovo’s new 12-inch business notebook and it’s been a joy to use for the past few days. The X200 has a starting price of just $1,199, making it an excellent value for anyone who needs a fully-capable notebook that can get them through a full work day.
VIA OpenBook Opened (video)
VIA’s Tim Brown opens up an OpneBook and shows us the guts of this 8.9-inch mini notebook reference design. The OpenBook has two PCI Express Mini Card slots with 52 pin edge connectors that enable the WiMAX, HSDPA, EV-DO, W-CDMA, WiFi, Blue Tooth and AGPS connectivity.

Acer’s the latest to officially launch an 8.9-inch notebook. The Acer Aspire One is built to fulfill all of your basic computing needs on the go for as low as $400.
ASUS 901, 1000 and 1000(H) Launched at Computex
ASUS showed off the Eee PC 901, 1000 and 1000 (H) models today at Computex 2008 in Taipei. The new Eee PCs are more robust and expensive than earlier versions. The low-cost ultraportable market is really heating up and ASUS isn’t standing still.
ThinkPad x300 – Full Featured 13.3-inch, 2.5-pound Lenovo Notebook Coming Soon
The MacBook Air’s stirred up some interesting discussion about what’s expected of an ultraportable notebook. Lenovo’s answer is the ThinkPad X300 series, which features a 64GB solid state drive, three USB ports, a DVD burner. Not bad for a 2.5 pound package.
ThinkPad Reserve Now Just $3,000 after $2,000 Price Drop
Apparently there’s not that much demand for Lenovo’s ThinkPad Reserve, the leather-bound X Series ThinkPad with a limited production run of only 5,000 units. Earlier this year the ThinkPad Reserve got a fancy web site and Lenovo promised three years of 24/7 support for the princely sum of $5,000. But if you’re willing to forgo the ‘Executive-class service’ you can pick one up for the bargain basement price of $3,000.

SSD vs HDD Comparison
Solid Sate Drives have some obvious advantages over Hard Disk Drives. Rob from GottaBeMobile tested a pair of OQO 02 ultramobiles, one with SSD and one with HDD. He Posted a full video of the comparison on his site.
