xTablet T8700 Waterproof Tablet Goes Swimming

Most notebooks don’t mix well with liquids, but the XTablet 8700 from Mobile Demand is no ordinary computer. The xTablet T8700 exceeds military specifications for ruggedness and its makers claim it has a lower total cost of ownership than non-ruggedized PCs In the below video, Conrad from RuggedPCReview demos how the XTablet T8700 still functions while holding it under water in his swimming pool. He takes it a step further and puts on his scuba gear to show that the tablet can withstand being fully submerged under a few feet of water.

Rugged Lenovo Matt Kohut from Lenovo shot some pictures of a ruggedized Lenovo notebook that’s only available in China. The rugged Lenovo notebook is designed to stand up to the elements and can operate under extreme conditions, but they don’t look as polished as Panasonic’s Toughbooks.
