128GB SSD for Laptops from Toshiba
Toshiba plans on ramping up production on 128GB solid state drives for notebooks starting next year. The new drives will be available in 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch form factors.

Transcend is getting ready to roll out a 16GB Class 6 SDHC memory card. The card can store more than 8,000 7-megapixel photos.It will have minimum transfer speeds of 6MB/s, for quick transfer of your digital photos or video to your notebook.
SSD vs HDD Comparison
Solid Sate Drives have some obvious advantages over Hard Disk Drives. Rob from GottaBeMobile tested a pair of OQO 02 ultramobiles, one with SSD and one with HDD. He Posted a full video of the comparison on his site.
SanDisk Vaulter Disk
SanDisk unveiled the Vaulter Disk, a solid-state storage solution that works in conjunction with a PC’s hard drive to store and launch the computer’s operating system and software applications. The new SanDisk Vaulter Disk tag-teams with the hard drive to provide enhanced performance over a PC that has only a hard drive. The Vaulter Disk will be available in 8GB and 16GB capicities for OEMs starting in early 2008.
JLo USB Flash Drive
There’s really no good excuse for something like this to exist other than for JLo to squeeze a few extra bucks from the one or two fans willing to cough up $70 for it. The USB flash drive is manufactured by Gresso, and includes Brave, JLo’s latest album. Those who are ‘Brave’ enough can wear the JLo drive as a necklace.
Seagate Launches Hybrid Hard Drive ‘Era’
Seagate Technology today announced it will begin shipping hybrid notebook drives in large volumes. Hybrid drives combine the large capacities of hard drives with a small amount of flash memory to deliver faster boot times, improved performance, greater reliability and lower power consumption. Seagate has seen up to 50% lower power consumption in testing.
Bitmicro E-Disk Altima - 461GB Solid State Disk
Bitmicro’s new E-Disk Altima E2A3GL 461GB 2.5-inch flash drive for military and industrial applications will be available next year. Designed for extreme conditions and durability, this is the largest SSD portable drive we’ve seen so far. Bitmicro claims this 416GB solid state disk (SSD) can operate between -40 and 85 degrees celcius and endure more than 1.9 million hours of usage.
Transcend Bumps ExpressCard Solid State Drive to 32GB
Solid state drives (SSD) continue to gain momentum, with Transcend doubling its ExpressCard offerings from 16GB to 32GB. The new ExpressCard drive supports ReadyBoost and comes with a USB-adapter so you can plug it into your computers that aren’t equiped with an ExpressCard slot.
Samsung Ramps up 64GB Solid Stated Disk Production
Samsung’s the first company to begin mass producing 64GB solid state drives (SSD) in a 1.8-inch form factor. This brings us one step closer to seeing ultramobiles and notebooks actually ship with a decent-sized SSD. Sony, Samsung and others are hoping users will pay a steep premium for these drives.
