Intel showed off its second-generation Classmate PC at the Intel Developer Forum in Shanghai, China. Intel’s ‘netbooks’ are low-cost and will presumably bridge the digital divide, just like the OLPC’s XO Laptop.

The Dell XPS M153o is the latest update to the company’s high-performance notebook line. The XPS M1530 is built of magnesium alloy and aluminum, giving it a high-class appearance at a reasonable $999 entry price. Intel Core 2 Extreme Mobile Processors Introduced
Intel announced the Core 2 Extreme mobile dual-core processor, which the company is billing as the world’s highest-performing mobile processor. Intel also introduced new desktop processors and said it expects to announce battery-friendly quad-core processors for laptop computers next year.
Intel Core 2 Extreme Notebook Processors Coming Soon
