The HP 2133 Mini-Note is available for order on HP’s Web site from $499 to $849, with a 4/17/08 estimated shipping date. The HP 2133 is about simplicity and ease of use, but you’d never know that if you’re in HP’s shopping cart.
HP tx2000z Tablet is Here…What a Box!
HP’s sent over a tx2000z for me to review. I really look forward to spending some quality time with this consumer Tablet PC, which Kevin Wentzel first showed us a few months ago, but I wanted to give thanks to whoever’s in charge of packaging the tx2000z.
Dell to Compete w/ HP 2133 Soon
Michael Dell said his company will bring an affordable compact notebook to market later this year to compete HP’s just announced HP 2133 Mini-Note PC. Dell’s mini notebook will be manufactured by Compal and will most likely run on Intel’s Atom processors.

The Asus Eee PC 4G is now available with Windows XP for $399 from Best Buy. Built for children, the 7-inch Eee PC 4G comes with a 7-inch display, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of flash storage and a 900MHz Intel Celeron M processor.
Second Generation Intel Classmate PC ‘NetBooks’
Intel showed off its second-generation Classmate PC at the Intel Developer Forum in Shanghai, China. Intel’s ‘netbooks’ are low-cost and will presumably bridge the digital divide, just like the OLPC’s XO Laptop.

The Dell Inspiron 1525 is now available with a Blu-ray disc player for just $879, making it the cheapest notebook to include the high definition format. The Blu-ray disc player is a $280 option on Dell’s 15.4-inch mainstream computer, while a Blu-ray burner is $480.
Notebook Batteries in Short Supply
Notebook batteries are hard to come by these days, thanks to a fire at an LG Chem factory. Orders for HP and Dell are being severely delayed, and Asustek is warning that 40% of second quarter notebook shipments could be affected.
