Sony Exec Says 2008 Will be a Big Year for Notebook Innovation, but Concerned About ‘Race to the Bottom’

The highlight of my trip out to Vegas for Sony’s Open House was having lunch Mike Abry, Sony’s senior VP of IT products in the U.S. Sony hasn’t rolled out any new notebooks so far this year, but he promised we’d see some real innovation come mid-year. I always enjoy talking to computer execs, but lunch was extra special because Ross Rubin (NPD analyst), Ryan Block (Engadget’s Editor in Chief), Erica Ogg (cnet reporter) and a couple of other techies were there.
