Free iPod Nano or iPod Touch MacBooks and MacBook Pros
Apple’s offering a free iPod Touch or iPod Nano to college-bound students and teachers with the purchase of any MacBook or MacBook Pro between now and September 15. The 8GB iPod Touch sells for $299, making it a very attractive bonus.
16GB iPhone Now Available for $499
Apple’s bumped the iPhone’s capacity up to 16GB. The new 16GB version of the iPhone costs $499, while the 8GB version is still available for $399. If you’re in the market for an iPhone, I highly recommend spending the extra $100 and getting the 16GB version.
Zen Stone Plus from Creative
The tiny Creative Stone (1GB or 2GB) and Stone Plus (2GB or 4GB) include a built-in speaker, that’s just loud enough to kinda-sorta enjoy your music without headphones. Both models have a FM receiver and can record audio. The Creative Stone Plus has a display so you can navigate through your music collection.
Mophie Knox Aluminum Case for iPod Nanos (video)
Mophie showed off its latest iPod case at CES 2008. The Knox is an aluminum case that doubles as a wallet and keeps your iPod Nano safe from the perils of the world. Mophie always seems to have the most iPod accessories that stand out from the crowd and the Knox is no exception.
Sony NW-E013 Lipstick-shaped MP3 Player for the Ladies
Sony’s NW-E013 MP3 player is tiny, stylish and cheap. The 1GB mp3 player only weighs an ounce and will sell for about $100. The NE-E013 has a color LCD that displays track info, settings, time and more.
iPod Commercial Parody
Here’s a funny parody of Apple’s latest iPod nano TV commercial. This Mad TV clip pokes fun at Apple and how your iPod seems obsolete the just after you get it.
Zune Version 2 Video Demo
Here’s a long video demo of the new Zune’s interface. No touchscreen like the iPod Touch or iPhone, but the Zune pad looks easy enough to use.
Microsoft Zune 2 TV Ads Explain Nothing
Micorosft sure doesn’t tell us much about the new Zune 2 one of its new TV ads. Instead, the company just shows an actress taking an Alice in Wonderland-esque trip where she dances with pink rabbits and swims with a giant jelly fish will. I’m glad Microsoft’s putting some marketing muscle behind the Zune 2, but this TV ad really misses the mark.
Limited Edition Pink Zune to Support Breast Cancer Research
Ford is selling a limited edition pink Zune to support breast cancer awareness. The company will donate 100% of the $249 purchase price to Susan G Komen for the Cure. The pink Zune is a first generation 30GB model. It’s not the latest tech, but it’s for a great cause.
