Is Intel readying a new Atom chip?

The tech world is definitely a world of rumor, inuendo and pundits.  We shouldn’t always believe what we read, but I think in the case of of new Intel processor, maybe we should listen up.

According to Liliputing and Netbooknews, it looks like Intel will be debuting a new Intel Atom processor for desktops, the Atom D425 and D525.  What will make these better than the current Atom line? These new processors will support both DDR2 and DDR3 memory. This will be a nice performance boost overall. This is a change from the current processors that only support DDR2. There is also talk about a processor speed bump for the D525 model from 1.66 GHz to 1.8 GHz.  Every little bit helps when it comes to speed and memory for computer processors.

So, its time to keep our eyes out in the local Best Buys, Frys, and other retail outlets to see if Intel is going to sneak these new chips into our systems.  Ultimately, its all for our benefit anyways.
