Inking on the iPad

One reason I was excited about getting my iPad was to do some inking during meetings. Inking refers to doing handwriting on the screen using a stylus. This is where Windows Tablet PCs excel.

In this video I show my initial experience and one of the main problems with using the iPad for inking.

My conclusion: until there is a better app and a better tool, inking is not ready for primetime on the iPad. I’m looking forward to what Evernote may be doing to add inking to their app in the future. And MobileNoter might have some potential. The only real option is either a sausage from Korea (not a joke) or a Pogo stylus. Neither is ideal.
