MacBook Air SSD Upgrade Demo
Solid sate drives (SSD) can really speed things up compared to hard drives. Nicole Scott from Netbooknews.com recorded a demo of what popping a Runcore SSD into a MacBook Air can do.
The MacBook Air with the SSD has a slower processor (1.86GHz) than the one with the hard drive (2.13GHz). In this demo the MacBook Air equipped with the Runcore SSD launches Microsoft Excel significantly faster than the hard drive equipped MacBook Air.
Besides launching Excel, this video also shows how the two systems fair with Xbench, an OSX benchmarking tool. The MacBook Air with the SSD was about five times faster when it came to the random read/write test.
