The Original TX2 ‘Tablet’

Matt Faulkner from GottaBeMobile dug up a video of M.I.T. researchers demonstrating a computer with inking capabilities from 1963. The Sketchpad system was built in at the M.I.T. Lincoln Lab TX2.

If you watch the below video you can spot the full name of the lab in the final frames. HP’s consumer tablet is called the Pavilion tx2. Both the lab and the HP convertible tablet share name the tx2 moniker and inking capabilities, but they have little else in common.
