Win a Pair of Seagate Drives for Valentine’s Day

Nothing says ‘forever’ like a data back up solution. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we’re giving away three pairs of Seagate FreeAgent Go 320GB drives.

There may be a gift or two your significant other may find more romantic, but if you want your memories to last forever you should always have at least two copies of all your favorite pictures and videos together.

To make sure there are duplicates of your precious files close to your heart, each winner will get a red FreeAgent Go for him and a pink FreeAgent Go for her.

To enter, all you need to do is answer the following question in the comment section below:

“What would impact your life more: Getting dumped or having all your data dumped on Valentine’s Day? Why?”

seagate_valentines_drives

Our friends at GottaBeMobile and GearLive are helping to give away these drives, so you actually get three seperate chances to win.

We’ll pick a winner on Tuesday Feb. 10th and try our best to get you and your sweetheart the drives by Valentine’s Day.
Thanks to Seagate for providing the drives for this giveaway.

This contest is open to U.S./Canadian residents only and is void where prohibited by local laws/regulations. You may enter once on Notebooks.com, GottaBeMobile and GearLive. Duplicate entries will be discarded. All decisions by the respective sites are final. Please be sure to enter your email in the email field and not in the comment itself so it’s protected.

Oops this is from last year. I thought it was this year.

I'd rather lose my data than my boyfriend... I've learned through life that some things in life are much more important than THINGS! yeah, the data is important, but after you've had your husband killed, you value your relationships!

Well as much as I would love having a pair of Seagate backup drives, and as much as I appreciate everything on my hard drive, especially my music collection, after twenty eight years together, I'd have to say getting dumped would be pretty traumatic.

Oh DEFINITELY if my data were dumped, I'd howl at the moon. My sweethearts are my kids, and I feel secure they won't dump me this week. My son would get the second Seagate. He'd be crushed if he lost his data, too. He won't lose me, ever.

Mostly I'm jealous of my friend who has this Seagate Freeagent Drive.

Well if hubby dumped me it would be a bad thing but I think that won't happen. SO for this year, it would really suck if our data were dumped.
  • Jessica P
Getting dumped by my girl would suck out loud- the data can be recreated, the girll can not.
  • Oli
Having all my data dumped would be worse for me, because I'm alone this Valentines day.

Getting my Data Dumped is bad but most of it can be replaced. Getting dumped on Valentines day would be the worst (unless you really didn't like the dumper, then you might be greatfull...)
  • teh_trout
That's a rough choice there, lose love or all the data, movies, pictures, music, games and work accumulated for years. Both?
  • Ouch... I guess it is sad that I actually need to deliberate on which of the two would be worse.

I guess getting dumbed by a significant other would affect me more, but it would certainly still be hard to recover from a data dump!

All my data dumped would have more of an impact!...because data is much nicer, I believe, than someone who'd dump ya on Valentine's day. ;) My data is mostly reliable, it's there for me. And it's flexible, it changes with me. If it gets lost, it would only be due to my own fault and my neglect of it. :(
  • Being a victim of both, I can say the one that has taken longer to get over was the loss of my data! Some data I will never get back. Where I did love again!
  • Heather
Well, since I am trying to win this for my honey, I would hope that I'm not getting dumped. So, losing all my photos as well as my financial data would be very hard to live without. The photos could never be re-created, and the money data would take lots and lots of work to try and restore.
  • ChrisRS
Getting Dumped of course. 21 years married, kids 20, 17, 15, 12. Broken family vs. lost date? No COntest!
  • A.J.
I have a girlfriend of two years and I know she would never do something as low as "dumping me on valentine's day" so I would have to say that losing all of my data would be much worse.
  • Kevin
At this point if my wife dumped me I would be in a world of hurt. I wouldn't need any of the data I have because she would probably get it all in the divorce. We have two keds on four and one four months. I would probably spend all my time working to make sure they had everything they needed. I wouldn't need tech slinging burgers all night after my nine to five!!
  • I believe that the significance of what is most important to us in life is the integration of that idea/value/item into our life. Even though I am quite partial to my data; a compilation of so many of my life's work, there is nothing in comparison that could replace the feelings and memories involved in any good relationship. That's something that I took for granted early this year. Anyone can work hard to make money and earn back a laptop, cell phone or television within a month's time, but significantly altering your life to save your relationship with someone you care about after they have left you is world's apart.

I am working on myself for the better right now so that I can be happy and never have to be dumped again.

Work hard and your needs will be met.

What were we talking about now? Data... oh yeah, I forgot.

    End.
  • Sarah Hendrix
I would say getting my data dumped. That would be awful. That is my life and there is nothing you could do to get it back.
  • Since I just got engaged I would say getting dumped. Relationships cost more than my music and if she dumps me the photos wouldn't really mean much.
  • Naomi Caneda
I would have to say getting dumped is WAY worst considering it is something I have experienced. I have yet to experience lossing all my data, but I'm sure it might even be a comparable experience =P.
  • William
Considering that I've never been dumped... I cannot compare to know which is worse, but I've had my hard drive fail and that is a bad feeling knowing that I didn't have a backup. OUCH
  • Tom Zagaja
I would have to say having all of my data dumped. I'm currently not in a relationship, so I can't be affected by being dumped on Valentine's Day =P. But losing all of my data would be a horrific loss for me.

Music and Videos can always be replaced because its something that we can buy, but pictures are priceless memories and if we lose those, they can never be replaced.

The pictures of my brothers graduation, family vacation, sports events are all so precious. Especially when I go to the opening day of the New Yankee Stadium, if I will ever lose those I will break down and cry lol =P.
  • I'm happily married so the other evil option (data dumped) will be my lot, I guess. Losing my data again would supremely suck, but thanks for the reminder to start burning my data to dvds. :)
  • Lois Shores
    My data
  • losing the girl would be the tragedy - a hard drive full of pictures of someone you lost could never hold a candle to a girl full of memories you can set out to repeat

MY DATA MY DOLL CAN BE REPLACED

Please I want to win! I know I've been hatin on seagate for having crappy drives, but SORRY I didn't mean it! I love seagate!
  • maddwoodsman
Having all my data dumped would be worse.
  • Rich D
I am going to go ahead and disagree with just about everyone else. Definitely getting dumped, my music, programs, and movies can be replaced, but being dumped on Vday of all days would just be too much.
  • Bob
Relationships come and go but losing the senior thesis, well that’s priceless. So dump me but don’t dump my data.
  • Marc
Ummmm.... you can always and should backup your data for one. At same time, you could find another lover.
  • Blake Britton
I'm in the process of converting all of my photos to digital negative format, and I'm needing more space to backup since my current backup drive is getting a little full with the conversion.

I would absolutely DIE if I lost my photos, since many of the older photos are irreplaceable, but honestly, what's a bunch of photos of the past compared with the dumping of the future with one you thought you loved? I think I would hate being dumped on Valentine's more.
  • Rob
Since I'm in the military, I am partial to both, but I would have to say since I have lost data before, I can eventually recover to some degree. Now, when it comes to a relationship, I am truly blessed to have a woman in my life that is strong, intelligent, can be strong on her own, and is a wonderful companion. With my duty, its hard to have a personal life, I can do with out a lot when it comes to personal niceties; data back up is always a must, but I'll suffer through the lost of photos, music, and the such, but a loving woman who is putting up with both me and with the military by choice takes precedence.

Funny story, over the holidays she said I should get an external drive to use as back up or to store pic/music on just in case something happened to my laptop across the pond.
  • Andrew
Right now, having my all data dumped would have a much bigger impact, since there is currently nobody to dump me, so that would have no impact.
  • teddyben
At the moment, having all my data dumped would definitely have a bigger impact on me. Being single ftw! :\
  • Shan Gee
It would really impact me having all my data dumped. My computer has a lot of important documents and data that are really important to me including family pictures & videos, and college assignments. Using a Seagate FreeAgent hard drive would be a great backup solution.
  • Oh, what a tragedy! Oh, how sad!
Not that he dumped me, but that my data's gone bad!
    He may not have liked the way that I dressed;
    He may have been putting my heart to the test;
But men like him have come and gone,
While my pictures and music have carried on.
I've lost data and I've lost men,
And trust me, I can never lose data again!
For if my data is secure, I cannot go wrong,
No matter how many men try to string me along.
So he may have dumped me on Valentine's day,
And yes, it may sound like a boring cliche,
But now I'm a Free Agent, and with my drive, that makes two
So Seagate, I've found a love that will last through and through...
  • Novaoblivion
Losing all my data since I have a lot of important data on there.
  • Kevin
Getting my hard drive dumped...lover can come back, data cant :P
  • Dave
If I had a box of chocolates it wouldn't be that bad
  • MiKeN
Well considering I JUST lost all my data last week due to my external hard drive failing so my only choice left is getting dumped.

What a sad day though if you were dumped on Valentines AND THEN lost all your data =(. Both are terrible to lose, but as I said, getting dumped would be worse. You can hopefully get some of your data back, but once your woman is gone, she's gone.
  • brandon calvert
getting all of my data dumped on valentines day. because i cant live without my music!!!!
  • Kim
I could find another husband but not his picture!
  • Having all my data dumped would impact me more.
  • Scott
Having all my data dumped on. Being dumped, while regretable,is curable. Losing one's precious data is tragedy.
  • Ken
Well, I'm married, so I don't think I'm getting dumped. So, I'd go with getting my data dumped.
  • Both would suck... but my data is pretty important.
