I've just upgraded to 2GB RAM in my HP Mini 1033CL (running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10). Unfortunately it seems to still only recognize 1GB of installed memory. I know that HP officially states that it supports only 1GB, but I've seen posts by a number of people who claim they've successfully upgraded to 2GB. Anyone else have this issue and/or know how to fix it? Thanks.

Thank you for a very informative discussion. I want to upgrade my 1030NR to 2 GB but everyone talks about the 2GB for $18-$20... when i go to egg.com it is more like $50. Any suggestions where to get if for as cheap as $20? Thank you

I just discovered this site. I have a hp 1000 and would like to speed it up. From what I read I need to get a 2gb memory stick and replace teh 1gb it came with. What is the 16gb ssd for? What is being replaced?

Scott, 16GB SSD is enough for what you want to do. I hope you have gone ahead and given it a try. I haven't been monitoring this forum lately.
