I have never once lost data, but I know that it happens to everyone so I'm probably due! One thing I could never be able to bear losing would be personal photos and documents!

So far, fingers crossed I have not lost any data. My current back up system is so old fashioned! I copy files onto CD’s and so just burning CD’s is how I back things up. It makes for so much unnecessary clutter! This prize package would help me immensely because it would be a much more efficient and easier way to manage all my files. I basically am concerned about losing all of my large image files. I create digital art using fractals. I create the fractals using all of my original photographic files. I have to admit I have lost sleep in the past worrying that one day I am going to lose them all, the ones I have not backed up and it would really be a nightmare for me because I have put so much time and effort in creating some really cool art. Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter. Happy Holidays!

If I had a data loss I would be most devastated by the loss of my copies of customized databases that I've developed for clients.

My most devastating data loss was many years ago during a disk optimization process when our building suffered a complete power failure. Unfortunately, the disk was non-recoverable after that failure. We had back-ups but they were not current so we lost a number of days of work.

I just would not ever be able to get over losing any of my digital photos! And I must admit that a lot of the photos only exist on my computer and aren't saved anywhere else. My hard drive on my laptop crashed awhile back and I lost quite a bit of stuff b/c I didn't backup my data, some wonderful photos were lost along with it... And sadly, I still don't really have a backup plan.

As a sysadmin i keep telling ppl to backup. Yet... due to lazyness/no time/no space... I dont backup my self. My DDS3 drive that i used to backup with went pop last year and with drive sizes climbing its not been worth replacing it.

Over the years i've lost a 500mb (my GCSE and A Level projects, MUD code, Fido backups), a 4gb (all my old BBS stuff and contacts), a 10gb (Uni photos contacts my entire mail store) a pair of 40gbs (My utilities, images, install tweaks and old project work) and a 200gb (good bye my mp3's). That was the worst losses.

An external drive to backup to would make my life easier. I'd stop putting things off and actually do a proper backup.

Failing that... I will get a pair of 1tb drives come Feb and properly mirror them. Move all my stuff to them and get rid of the old drives... including the squeeking 40gb that occasionally looses itself in windows. (nothing wrong with its SMART status so figure it wont die yet.)

It would be so terrible if I were to lose my family history research. I've put so much work and time into it. I currently do not have many of my files backed up besides a few items on my flash drive. And luckily, I haven't lost any important data yet, but I have known a few people who have and I would like to be prepared!

I don't even own a notebook...my old puter is all I have...so I have no back up drive now. I didn't even know you could backup online until today. I'm disabled, so I can't afford new stuff. This backup drive would sure be neat...and much needed. All my family photos and such are on my one HD...it crashes...I'm dead.

I would be devastated if I lost all my research papers! I haven't lost anything yet, but I know that I do need a way to backup my files in case anything were to happen!
