Winner of the HP HDX Dragon Contest is…

Thank you to everyone that participating in the 31 Days of the Dragon contest at Notebooks.com. I’m very excited to announce the winner today and think this Dragon is going to a very deserving home.

Choosing a winner’s been a very difficult task, with dozens of entries to read through. There were several contestants I wish I could give an HP HDX to. Several students, a hot shot movie producer, a bad-ass guitarist, engineers and others that could definitely use the HP HDX entered the contest from all over the world.

For those of you who didn’t follow the contest, participants had to register for Notebooks.com Forums and become active participants. More importantly, they had to leave a story about how they would use the HP HDX, and how it would impact their lives, or the lives of those around them.

Update: After some confusion, that was partially my fault, we’re finally able to announce the winner of the HP HDX Dragon. The winner is someone who we think will be able to push the limits of the Dragon and give back to online communities with tutorials, videos and more.

Please join me in congratulating ChrisTheFeral, a 15-year old Australian student that sent in a 20-minute YouTube video (see below) pleading his case. Chris was also the most active member of the new Notebooks.com Forums, posting nearly 400 times over the past week.

The 31 Days of the Dragon Contest isn’t over yet. There are several more chances to win this week. Check out these sites, which are each giving away an HP HDX Dragon this week:

“We’re looking for quality, not quantity here”. That’s what you wrote in the Contest rules. You went for quantity your self, it isn’t contribution but spamming.

I thought i have a chance after putting so much efforts in my articles & guides. They took me several hours to write & compose.Looks like, i shouldn’t have invested so much time to compile those quality posts.Sorry Chris, i’ not upset with your winning but i’m upset with myself that if i could post like you,it would have been better for me.I thought all of my articles were useful & quality ones but maybe i’m wrong.I’ll delete them as no-one found them useful.I always hated these ” Post like mad ” contests.

Mate, this isn’t the time to argue or anything, but just so you know, I put a lot of effort in helping people and making tutorials and there are PLENTY of HD 1920×1080 tutorials to come once I get this beauty of a system.

No matter who wins, somebody is going to object.
I however have mainly gone for quality, there possibly were a few useless posts, though I have deleted most of them if not all.

Please though, no arguments :) - I am always trying to help people, I had to spend hours on the phone just to try and help somebody burn a CD XD

Sure Chris, you are not alone in helping people with their computers. Most techies do that. HD tutorials to come? Uploading those from dial-up, right.

Anyway. Congrats.

Dialup? No, I got my speed back! I’m about to head off soon.

Also, HD once I get the computer - I can hardly handle 320 x 240 screen capture at the moment.

Anyway, thanks though :)

LoL so it seems Xavier after making a silly mistake, simply searched for the users with most comments and chose him!

I wanted that computer, too, but not bad enough to make a video. Of course, you’re gonna hear about how a lot of people deserve that more than you (Especially me, LOL). Don’t take it to heart. Sour grapes make the best whine!
Congratulations, and I hope you put it to good use. Cheers, mate!

Archpope, thanks mate :) Also, nobody knows really how much anybody deserves it, I only mentioned the minor reasons why, kinda silly of me when I think about it now but some of the things sound ridiculous and hard to beleive.
But anyway.. I will DEFIANTLY put this beast to good use, GAH! I can’t WAIT! LOL! :)
