ASUS Eee PC 900 Available from $549
The 8.9-inch ASUS Eee PC 900 is now available via online retailers for as low as $549. The ASUS Eee PC 900 comes with either a 900MHz Intel Celeron processor, 1GB of RAM and a choice of Windows XP or Linux.
The Windows XP version comes with 12GB of flash memory, while the Linux Eee PC 900 comes with 20GB of storage capacity. The ASUS Eee PC 900 is comes in pearl white initially, but you can expect more colors to be available in the coming months.
The ASUS Eee PC 900 is attractive for those on a budget, or those looking for a more mobile secondary notebook. The 8.9-inch display has a 1024×600 resolution, which is better than the smaller and cheaper Eee PCs.
Those interested in the ASUS Eee PC 900 should also take a look at the HP Mini Note 2133, which we reviewed last month. The 2133’s screen has a higher resolution, roomier keyboard and a 120GB hard drive for virtually the same price ($549 for Linux and $599 for Windows).

jkkmobile shot this great video of the Eee PC 900 and compared it to a previous Eee PC with a smaller screen.
update: Thanks to Kevin from JKonTheRun.com for pointing out that Buy.com’s product page erroneously states the processor clock speed. It is indeed 900MHz, not 1.7GHz.

Are you certain on the 1.7 GHz Celeron? One of the online retailers showed that, but the others all showed the expected 900 MHz Celeron.
