31 Days of the Dragon: 31 Tech Sites Giving Away 31 $5,000 HP HDX ‘Dragon’ Notebooks
I’m really excited to announce that Notebooks.com is partnering with HP and 30 other technology Web sites to give away 31 HP HDX ‘The Dragon’ notebooks over 31 days. Each notebook that’s being given away is worth $4,500 and comes with Blu-ray movies, software and video games that would put you back over $600 if you bought them at retail. All together, we’re giving away over $160,000 worth of computers and software!
Each Web site will have its own contest rules and entry requirements. Notebooks.com’s contest will kick off on May 18 and a winner will be announced on May 25. We haven’t finalized how we’ll collect entries yet, but the contest will be open to all and we’ll be making every effort to make sure the HDX finds a good home.
The folks over at HP are being very generous by donating the HDX notebooks for this contest and I’m very happy that one of our readers will have one of these gorgeous machines soon.
The HP HDX notebooks we’re giving away have just about every option you can get. A 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme processor ($800), 20.1-inch HD (1080p) display ($200), 4GB of RAM ($200) and 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS graphics card ($250) are all included in these giveaway units.
Dual 250GB hard drives ($250) provide a total of 500GB of storage capacity, which you’ll need to store all of the movies and video you record via an integrated HDTV tuner.
A Blu-ray disc player is also included, which will come handy since we’re including all three Pirates of the Caribbean titles on Blu-Ray ( The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man’s Chest, and At World’s End).
Each HP HDX will be bundled with full evaluation copies of Microsoft Office, Corel PaiintShop Pro X2, Corel Painter Essentials, Corel Ulead Video Studio Plus 11.5, Viva Pinata, Microsoft Flight Sim and Gears of War.
Below is a list of each of the sites that are giving away an HDX Dragon with the end date of their contests. Each contest will begin seven days before the end date. For the best odds, make sure to enter each contest that you’re allowed to (some sites have geographic restrictions).
