Dell Vostro 1310 and 1510

Dell’s updated its Vostro notebook line with the Vostro 1310 and Vostro 1510, which are thinner and lighter than previous Vostro models. The biggest differentiator between the Vostro series and notebooks offered by other manufacturers is that you won’t be bombarded with trial software and offers.

The notebooks will feature INtel Core 2 Duo processors and slot-loading optical drives. Customers can configure the Vostro 1310 and Vostro 1510 with up to 4GB of memory and their pick of Windows XP and Windows Vista.

The Dell Vostro 1510 has a 15.4-inch widescreen display and weighs just under six pounds. The Vostro 1310’s display measures 13.3-inches, which is a first for the relatively new Vostro line, and weighs 4.6 pounds.

The new Vostro notebooks have several security features including a TPM (trusted platform module) for securing data, a fingerprint scanner and a free-fall sensing hard drive that protects your data against sudden movement.

The Dell Vostro 1510 will start at $559 and the 1310 will tart at $749.
