Gateway M-6850FX: 15.4-inch FX Edition IntroducedGateway M-6850FX
Gateway’s introduced an “FX” version of its 15.4-inch M-Series notebook for multimedia enthusiasts. The M-6850FX is a retail model and will be available at Best Buy for $999.
Gateway’s M-6850FX comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor, ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphics, 3GB of memory, a 320GB 5400RPM hard drive and a DVD burner with LabelFlash, which allows users to burn images onto the surface of DVDs.
Gateway also bumped the specs of its 17-inch FX series notebook. The P-172X FX Edition now has an Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS 512MB GDDR3 GPU , 4GB of memory, 320GB of hard drive capacity (two x 160GB RAID 0. It also features an integrated webcam, 802.11n Wifi networking, a 1920×1200 resolution display and a fingerprint reader. It is available direct from Gateway for $1,999.99.
The P-Series FX Edition is also available to customers who want to shop retail. The Gateway P-6860FX comes with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition with SP1 and will be available beginning this weekend at Best Buy with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $1,349.99. It comes with NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8800M GTS 512MB GDDR3, an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor, 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM and a 320GB5400RPM SATA hard drive.
