Notebooks.com Readers Still Love Windows XP

Notebooks Browser Share Windows XP, VistaVista’s been out for more than a year, but Notebooks.com visitors still love Windows XP. About 68% of our readers are using Windows XP, while just over 10% are using Vista. Just under 10% are using Mac OSX.

Our friends over at jkOnTheRun and GottaBeMobile posted their visitors’ operating systems preferences and inspired me to run a similar report. Here’s a chart with full details.

Notebooks Browser Share Windows XP, Vista

James was really surprised to see that 14% of jkOnTheRun visitors are running Mac OSX because he and Kevin focus on Tablet PCs and ultramobiles. Rob from GottabeMobile was surprised that “only 22%” of his site’s visitors are using Vista. That’s twice the share compared to Notebooks.com.

If you haven’t moved on from XP, you shouldn’t feel like a laggard. In fact, on of our most popular posts is about a small business notebook that comes with Vista business.  I posted the specs and video here, but the discussion quickly turned to how to upgrade/downgrade to XP.
