Acer Gemstone Blue Notebooks Announced

Acer Aspire Gemstone BlueAcer launched two the ‘Gemstone Blue’ notebook series, which have some nice design touches and are designed for multimedia enthusiasts.. The Aspire are packed with entertainment features, including Dolby Home Theater audio technology and optional Blu-ray drives. Both notebooks have an interesting multimedia touchpad next to the keyboard.

The Acer Aspire 8920G is the bigger of the two with its 18.4-inch high definition display and weighs in at nine pounds. It can be configured with up to 640GB of storage capacity (2 x 320GB) and NVIDIA GeForce G9650M graphics.

The 6920G come with a choice of NVIDIA GPU’s, Intel Core 2 Duo processors and a a choice of NVIDIA GPUs.

The new notebooks can be configured with Vista Home Pemium or Vista Ultimate.

The 6920G will cost less than $1,000 in its basic configuration. A 8920G with all the goodies will cost about $2,000.
