Sierra Wireless Compass 597 USB Modem Announced

Sierra Wireless Compass 597Sierra Wireless announced the Compass 597 modem, which is smaller than any other USB EVDO Rev A modem on the market. The drivers and software are preloaded on the Compass 597, which means you don’t need an installation CD or DVD to get going. This is particularly useful for those of us with multiple computers or if you need to share your wireless card with colleagues.

The Sierra Wireless Compas 597 works with OSX, Windows XP and Windows Vista notebooks. The Compass 597 features a microSD memory expansion slot and a GPS receiver.

It will be available by Q2 of this year.

Sierra Wireless Compass 597 USB Modem Announced for the 2nd quarter: Was this unit issued and, if so, where may I acquire one for a Sony VAIO laptop running on Microsoft Vista OS? I live in Concord, CA.

Thanks.
