ZPower Silver-Zinc Batteries
Lithium-ion notebook batteries will be a thing of the past if the guys at ZPower have their way. ZPower is developing silver-zinc batteries for notebooks that pack 40% more energy than similarly sized lithium-ion batteries and are easier on the environment.
Our friends over at Gear Live shot this video a couple of weeks ago at Showstoppers, a satellite event at CES in Las Vegas.
ZPower says its in contract with a major notebook manufacturer to get its batteries to market by early summer. The batteries will be rolled out in new systems, as it’s too difficult to retrofit existing notebooks with silver-zinc batteries.
