Tale of the WalMart Toshiba.
The Walmart newspaper circular stated to check in-store specials advertised only on their website. The Walmart secret- in- store- special advertised on the webpage stated that there would be a
minimum of one each store.I was first in line, first to ask for it.
The electronics manager had no idea what I was talking about, couldn’t
find it, so she took my name and number. The store manager knew about
it but referred me back to the electronics manager. I called Walmart HQ in Bentonville, AR
to complain that the ad stated a minimum but the store had none. They
told me that just because the ad stated so did not mean that each store
received one and too bad for me. The one customer service rep said that the ad was
already expired and removed from the site. He lied. I checked and called them back.
Same story - they’ll “document it” that is, inform management that I
called to make a complaint but they would not be calling me about
the availability of the laptop because minimum one each store does not
mean that each store would receive a computer (huh?), and many of them did not.
So sorry you waited for two hours in the cold for alaptop that was
never available in the store but “I’ve documented it for you.”
Good news! The electronics manager called to tell me she found four of the laptops. She said after several peoplecame in looking for it she thught she better check it out, so she looked it up on the website. I got a great Toshiba A205-S4707 for $388.00 on sale from $748. It’s gorgeous on the outside - an assessment of the innards will have to wait until I actually get to use it.
The manager apologozed profusely but I told her truly she was sweet for calling me, and that I was just happy to get it (more flies with honey) . Best of all, there was one for the young man racing me neck and neck. He said if there was only one, I could have it. How nice! honey, etc. Yippee!
