CompUSA Selling Acer Aspire Notebook for $299

CompUSA is selling the Acer Aspire 3690-2970 notebook for just $299 today and tomorrow only. This pre-Black Friday special is marked down $280 from its original price.
CompUSA’s configuration of the Acer Aspire features an Intel Celeron M Processor 520 1.6GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, 15.4-inch WXGA TFT Display, 8X DVD / 24X24X24 CD-RW Combo Drive and Windows Vista Home Basic.

The 15.4-inch laptop is available from CompUSA at this price in-store and online through 11/4/2007. (CompUSA’s online store currently says its online store is out of stock).

If you’re in the market for a cheap computer for holidays this is a great price on a decent notebook if you need a very basic laptop. There seems to be plenty in stock at most CompUSA stores, but make sure to check for availability by visiting the product page.
There may be better deals come Black Friday, but I’d rather lock in this deal and avoid the post-Thanksgiving day rush.
