But, the machine is more than good enough for me as running Linux goes, except the NDISWRAPPER software cannot wake up that wintel wireless and Bluetooth hardware Acer/Gateway chose to install. Guess I'll have to buy USB for them both. As for battery life, the customizable power management profiles in PCLinuxOS 2007 (and likely in any current, modern Linux distributions) rates or predicts my battery power time to within a minute of what Vista predicts.
