Dell Notebook Blamed for House Fire

Fire Dell LaptopA Dell Inspiron 1200 is being blamed for a house fire in Maine yesterday, after its owner left it charging on a couch. The notebook was not part of last year’s massive recalls. Nobody was injured in the blaze, but more there was an estimated $100,000 in damage.

The Dell Inspiron 1200 apparently “had something happen with the cord or the power unit on the cord,” Stanford (a state fire marshal investigator) said, because the damage was most severe where the laptop and cord were located in the house.
