Notebook Fire Causes $100,000 in Damage
Oregon firefighters say a notebook started a house fire, causing $100,000 in damage. The owner left the notebook plugged in and on a bed in the middle of the day after feeling “uncomfortable heat” coming from it. No word on what kind of notebook this was, but it was apparently a few years old and had the original battery pack. Whatever the owner was looking at in the middle of the day in bed was destroyed…
This is yet another reminder to check those serial numbers and visit your manufacturer’s web site to make sure your notebook is safe.
