USB AA Batteries

The USBCELL battery operates like any other AA battery, but can charge from any USB port without extra recharging devices, cradles or cables. The batteries are only available in the UK from the USBCELL website and cost £12.99 per pair.

Consumers may switch from throw away batteries if there is a convenient way to charge them, but the price point too high for batteries that power remote controls and mice. As good as this may be for the environment, I would hesitate on spending $75 to outfit my three remote controls with these things. I’m more interested in Moxia’s future plans of selling USB chargeable batteries for mobile phones and PDAs.
