DEAL: Maxtor External USB 2.0 200 GB Drive for $79

After really lagging on backing up my home notebooks I started shopping online for a cheap USB 2.0 external drive. I needed at least 150 GB to cover each of my three laptops and nothing fancy. On my way to the café today I stopped by Radio Shack to buy a simple surge protector and found this great deal on my way out of the store!

The Maxtor Basics Personal Storage 3200 is a pretty basic external drive that comes in 100 GB, 200 GB and 300 GB variations. The drive is pretty basic, has only a single USB connector (cable included), and runs at 7200 RPM.

The 200 GB version is normally $149.99, but there’s a $70 mail-in rebate for a total of only $79.99. The deal is only good through June 17 and is available in store or online with free shipping (link below).

I normally avoid this store at all costs for computer wares because of the extremely limited inventory and knowledge, but they do have decent deals if you know what you’re looking for and it’s rebate season.
