Sony has launched a notebook PC trade-in program that pays you up to $318 in giftcards to be used at sonystyle.com or at one of Sony’s retail stores. This is a great way of getting something if you were planning on junking your old computer,want to avoid selling it yourself and like being green.

The trade-in program is a hassle. The reps don’t have any feel for customer responsibility and the trade-in value cannot be refunded if you return your new computer … in any circumstances.
